According to a message posted to social media by his family, world renowned drug smuggler and inspiration for the movie "Blow", "Boston" George Jung has died at age 79.

Jung, according to the message posted on the site by his family, passed away peacefully at his home in Weymouth, Massachusetts.

Jung's wife had, in recent days, provided updates to friends that George had been brought home on hospice care and was unresponsive for long periods of time.
